DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR TEXTILE RECYCLING.
Project completed in June 2023.
The primary objective of the research was to support and facilitate the recycling process of textile products, eliminating in an eco-sustainable way alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEOs), chemical substances widely present in used clothing and highly polluting.
The project
idea was to use the Magnetoliposome (MNPs) technique to separate APEOs from
wastewater, based on the following requirements:
- ability of
liposomes to incorporate lipophilic pollutants
- property of magnetic nanoparticles to be captured by magnetic separation
The project
lasted two years and the results are being published
